Résumé:
The epidural lumbosacral is known for its simplicity, safety and effectiveness. It has the
purpose of blocking the nervous impulses from the spinal nerves inside of the spinal
channel, or, whereof stimulation of specific receivers, of producing regional analgesia.
This present work has as objective assess benchmark the outcomes of two doses of
lidocaine , administered by epidural lumbosacral in goats, as the effects breath hearting and
about the area of anaesthesia obtained. It was developed on the dependencies of the
Hospital Veterinario do Centro de Saude e Tecnologia Rural da Universidade Federal de
Campina Grande, Campus de Patos - PB Veterinary Hospital of the Center of Healt and
Rural Tecnology from University Federal of Campina Grande Campus of Patos - PB). It
has been used six caprine, male, manly higidos, one of them is four years old and weighing
18,2±1,7 kg. Each animal was checked its weigh, after 15 minutes of resting, was
contained for mensuration from the parameters physiological what have been analyzed.
After that, the animals have been medicated with acepromazina, on dose of 0,05 mg/kg by
intraveinous (IV). Each of the animals was submitted to two protocols, with an interval of
15 days among each anaesthesia; group 1 and group 2: administration of lidocaine at 2%
with vasoconstrictor, on the doses of 0,3 mL/kg e 0,4 mL/ respectively, by lumbosacral
epidural. It has been appraised the heartbeat frequency, electrocardiogram frequency
respiratory motility ruminant and temperature body. All of the parameters was mensured
immediately before the administration of acepromazina T -15) and of the epidural
anaesthesia (TO) & at 15 (T15), 30 (T30), 45 (T45), 60 (T60), 90 (T90) and 120 (T120)
minutes after. The cutaneous anesthesia (latency, duration and extension from area
unsensitized) was appraised through of cutaneous punch with hypodermic needle 30x7,
starting the search on region perineal and following skully. It was assigned according the
rate of ataxia in a scale of: 0 - to ataxia absent; 1 - to ataxia moderate and get deambular; 2
- to ataxia serious with new decubite. In none of the parameters relative of the anesthetic
induction occur difference significative among the groups. The maximum height from
anaesthesia achieved was up to the sixth rib (C6) laterally and until the half of the
breastbone in the abdomen into the group 1, until the second rib (C2) laterally and portion
of the skull of the breastbone of the abdomen into the group 2, whom have been obtained
15 minutes before and lasted on the average 60 minutes. There was a variation on heartbeat
frequency, into the Interval P-R, on motility ruminant and on body temperature. The
recumbent occur at 3,3±3,1 minutes and lasted 107,5±34,1 minutes into the group 1. Into
the group 2 the recumbent started at 1,4±2,3 minutes and lasted 126,5±34,2 minutes. The
rate of ataxia presented for all of the animals it assumed the standpoint quadrupedal was
degree 1 (ataxia moderate). Concluding, in spite of the few alteration obtained, the
utilization of lidocaine in doses of 0,3 mL/Kg and mainly of 0,4mL/Kg , by epidural, is
efficient to expand the height (migration of the skull) reached by analgesia and to extend a
little bit more the time of action of this analgesia
