Abstract:
Among naturally transmissible diseases between animals and humans, tuberculosis takes
over significant importance because affects animal health and is responsible for economic losses
in domestic animals and represents danger for public health. Caprine tuberculosis is a disease
caused by mycobacteria of the Mycobacteriaceae family and Mycobacterium genus, being
Mycobacterium bovis the main agent. It is a disease of significant importance, affecting domestic
and wild animals, birds and human beings. Caprine can also be infected and depending on
management conditions to which they are submitted, they can have a high frequency of the disease. In this review the mean epidemiological, etiological, clinical signs, diagnosis and control
aspects of the caprine tuberculosis are described.
