Abstract:
The opioids are being very used in the Veterinary Medicine for relieve of the postoperative or traumatic pain in dogs. By epidural route, the opioids are very effective, and when compared by systemic road, it promotes good results, giving like
this, a better margin of safety for the veterinary doctor, and seeking, at the same time, the good to be animal, offering better recovery conditions to the recently-operated animal or traumatized pacient. This literature review objectives to reinforce and to confront information about those drugs such spread opioids, that are the morphine, only of natural occurrence, the buprenorfine, synthetic of the morphine, the fentanil, of the group of the fenilpiperidinas, the butorfanol, synthetic three to five more potent than the morphine and the tramadol, similar synthetic opioid, drugs us which they are so spread in the Veterinary Medicine and to stimulate the search for larger answers around the same.
