Anemia infecciosa equina (Equus caballus, Linnaeus, 1758): revisão de literatura.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve and collect data about the Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) that affects horses worldwide and in Brazil with a higher concentration of cases in the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso, the Equine Infectious Anemia as it comes of a contagious disease, has to be treated as a matter of high importance as it has no cure and its spread is quite high when you do not take proper care, this disease has no predilection for race, sex or age. As the IEA is a notifiable disease, the responsible government authorities must be informed immediately and all precautions are taken for the distribution to neighboring herds or other geographical areas. We know that control of these diseases depends on knowledge etiopathogenesis, characteristics and epidemiological aspects of the disease.
