Résumé:
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of intramuscular injection of lidocaine on the induction doses of propofol and thiopental in goats. Six healthy Moxotó goats were used, weighing 22.5+0.4 kg. Each animal underwent four anesthetic protocols. Animals of control groups received a solution of 0.9% NaCl (0.35 mL.kg-1 IM), folloved 30 minutes loter by induction of anesthesia with propofol 1% (GCP) or thiopental 5% (GCT). In the lidocaine group (GLP and GLT), the NaCl solution was repleced by 2% lidocaine (7mg.kg-1 IM). The following parametes were measured: HR, f, body temperature, rumen motility, ECG(electrocardiography), Blood Pressure, SpO2, total dose of propofol or thiopental, anesthetic period, anesthetic recovery time and ataxia. There was a significant reduction of f and body temperature in all groups after anesthetic induction, and a reduction in the B.P between groups at different times. There was no other difference among groups. Intramuscular administration of lidocaine 40 minutes before anesthetic induction with thiopental or propofol, neither modified the dose nor the anesthetic period of propofol or thiopental anesthesia in goats.
