Resumen:
With the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes the disease COVID-19, the world witnessed
the impact in the social, political, economic and, mainly, in the area of security
health, which gave rise to measures and actions on the part of the public sector, private initiative, and
civil society, in order to alleviate the various problems caused by the crisis that emerged.
In this scenario, it is worth highlighting the relevance of the social responsibility actions carried out
by organizations throughout the pandemic period. In this context, the Initiative
United Nations Environment Program (UNEPFI), in which there are
representation of Brazilian institutions, as members, and actively participating.
From this perspective, this research aimed to investigate financial institutions
in the banking sector, operating in Brazil, listed as members of UNEPFI, with regard to
social responsibility initiatives and actions, from 2020 to 2021, years of great crisis
from the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the research is classified according to the
objectives, such as exploratory and descriptive, with a qualitative approach, with data collected by
through sustainability reports, characterized as a documentary research. THE
from the analysis of the reports published by the organizations studied, the
actions within the researched initiatives. The results showed that the initiatives taken
by financial institutions in Brazil, helped to minimize the effect of the crisis in the area of health,
social and economic. Actions that had a far-reaching impact on their customers and
stakeholders, bringing information, resources and support to the population, mainly to
those in a state of social vulnerability.
