"Eu sou espada": representação da masculinidade a partir da guerra de espadas em Senhor do Bonfim-BA (1967-2010).

Abstract

In this research we analyzed the representation of masculinity in the War of Spades in Senhor do Bonfim, BA in period (1967-2010). In our analysis we realize that masculinity has been represented from the cultural practice of War Feast of Swords junina inserted in the town of Senhor do Bonfim, BA, to be recognized as male-goat, fearless, brave. The documentary films selected and analyzed during this research consists of local newspapers, academic papers, essays public school students and pre-university preparatory course, lyrics, poems, photographs, television reports, documentaries and oral testimonies of the residents and participants party, made with semi-structured questions short and direct and in local observation of the war. To achieve this research dialogued with some authors, like Albuquerque Júnior (2003) with his reflections on masculinity in the Northeast, about memory was instrumental analyzes proposed by Alberti (2000), Halbwachs (1990) and Portelli (2010). Regarding the concept of culture embasamos our reflections in the work proposed by Certeau (1994), Chartier (1990) and an academic text of Albuquerque Junior. About power relations and identity construction are fundamental propositions proposed by Foucault (2005b) and Hall (2000a), respectively. Done this time frame, spatial, and theoretical and methodological, we reflect on the June Festival and War Swords while the stage of constructions and representations of sensitivities to be analyzed in their discourse and practice suggest that this event allows junino not only a sense , but a multiple meanings.
