Résumé:
Two studies were conducted to investigate the presence of Mycoplasma spp. in the
reproductive tract of small ruminants and to test the in vitro susceptibility of isolates of
Mycoplasma agalactiae. In the first study were collected 154 samples of vaginal and
preputial swabs and semen from animals without reproductive disorders from four
farms in the state of Paraíba. No lesions were observed in the external genitalia from
studied animals. In the samples of vaginal swabs, two (1.3%) showed growth of
Mycoplasma spp., being one in goat and other in sheep belonging to two farms. In the
samples of semen and preputial swab were not observed Mycoplasma spp. growths. So
it was confirmed the presence of mycoplasma in the reproductive tract of small
ruminants from liquid and solid modified Hayflick’s media. For the second study, seven
samples of Mycoplasma agalactiae were used, one sample from the previous study and
six samples isolated from herds. The isolates were submitted to the antibiotic
susceptibility test by the dilution plating method. The antibiotics used were: Tylosin
(1μg/mL to 0,0625μg/mL), Enrofloxacin (1μg/mL to 0,0625μgg/mL) Oxytetracycline
(0,5μg/mL to 0,03125μg/mL), Streptomycin (16μg/mL to 1μg/mL), Florfenicol (8/mL
to 0,5μg/mL), Doxycycline (1μg/mL to 0,0625μg/mL), Gentamicin (1μg/mL to
0,0625μg/mL) and a biotherapic in formulation 30D. The enrofloxacin and tylosin were
more effective at concentrations ranging from 0.25 to 0,0625μg/mL, oxytetracycline
and doxycycline also had an inhibitory effect at concentrations from 0.125 to
0,03125μg/mL e 0,0625μg/mL, respectively. Streptomycin, florfenicol, gentamicin and
the biotherapic showed no satisfactory inhibitory effects on the used concentrations.
The enrofloxacin, tylosin, oxytetracycline and doxycycline showed better inhibitory
effect on M. agalactiae growth.
