Resumo:
In this study aimed to prepare a recovery proposal for a Permanent Preservation Area
located on the border of the municipalities of Barro Alto-BA and Ibititá-BA. The study was
developed following the following steps: georeferencing of the study area; general description
of the area, description of the pre-degradation scenario, description of the post-degradation
scenario, recovery strategy and environmental monitoring. These methodological steps were
developed through bibliographic research, field visits, interviews with the local community,
photo documentation, soil analysis and Environmental Impact Assessment methodologies: “Ad
Hoc” and Interaction Matrix. A total of 19 environmental impacts were identified in the biotic,
abiotic and anthropic environments, in addition, the abiotic environment was the one with the
highest number of impacts. The future use of the area was based on access roads to the
community and the revegetation with native species in the indicated areas, so that the problems
of accelerated erosion in the area are solved and provide greater protection to the water body.
Among the techniques indicated for the recovery of the area, the main ones were: eradication
of degrading factors, isolation of the affected area, stabilization of gullies, construction of
barriers inside the gullies, recomposition of the soil profile, revegetation and recovery of the
vegetal cover, waterproofing of access roads, improvement in sanitation conditions. No matter
how efficient and grounded are the chosen techniques, constant monitoring and verification of
effectiveness are necessary, as the environment has its variations and particularities, which can
make the recovery process unfeasible.
