Resumen:
This dissertation consists of the outlines of a study that has as general objective
to investigate the use of the WhatsApp application as a pedagogical resource through the insertion of reading and writing practices in Portuguese language classes in an Elementary School class, in the Youth and Adult Education modality, based on pedagogical mediations and on the results from this experience . This research is supported by the works of: Marcuschi (2002; 2010); Rojo (2013); Soares (2002); Koch and Elias (2013); Pereira (2007); Souza (2007); Freire (1987; 1992; 2000; 2018). ); Mauri and Onrubia (2010), among others. The instruments used for data collection were: students' academic performance, the Portuguese language textbook of EJA - 9th grade, a structured questionnaire with closed questions and another online questionnaire with open questions carried out through the google forms application. In the course of this investigation, we found through the analyzed data that the WhatsApp application offers valuable contributions and incentives to grammatical learning, as well as reading and writing. Such contributions of this application, according to the results, provide another way to teach and learn more dynamically, thus promoting student motivation. Therefore, these and other technologies are at our disposal to transform the pedagogical practice and the reality of these students who seek to compensate for the time they were out of school.
