Résumé:
Systematic vaccination of cattle against highly contagious diseases such as foot-and-mouth
disease was one of the measures that provided the growth observed in the last years of the
production and export of bovine meat in the country, in contrast to vaccination has caused
several adverse effects, among them training of nodules. The presence of vaccine nodules
promotes a significant financial depreciation on bovine carcasses. In this way the present
work had as objective to investigate the influence of asepsis in the vaccine management on
the appearance of vaccine nodules in cattle submitted to vaccination against foot and mouth
disease, as well as to understand its formation through histological and microbiological
studies. For this, experiments were carried out comparing the adoption of aseptic
measurements during the vaccination, as well as the collection and analysis of nodules found
in carcasses from slaughterhouse. The appearance of vaccine nodules appears to be related to
several factors, mainly the addition of oily adjuvant in the vaccine formulation. The
understanding of the appearance of vaccine nodules can make a great contribution in the fight
against its appearance, favoring the obtaining of carcasses of higher sanitary quality, as well
as reducing the damages caused by it to the producers.
