Résumé:
Acoustic doppler current profilers are useful tools to hidrometry, because represent an effective and efficient option to the process of flow measurement. This work consists of a detailed description for flow measurement processes using acoustic doppler profilers, whose objective is to achieve the mastery of this technique and methodology for hydrometry and fluviometry meansurement. This technology was used in obtaining the Rio Pianco’s key curve, which crosses Pombal city urban area, in a session located downstream of the water catchment station for human ablution. A SonTek S5 was used for the flow measurement, because its better operation for low depth rivers. Two key curves were found, one for low flow, with an observed linimetric height of less than 90 centimeters, whose parameters a, b and ho were respectively 1,5734; 4,3757 e 0 and another key curve, for high flow, with an observed linimetric height of greater than 92 centimeters, whose parameters a, b and h0 were respectively 0,0093; 1,7045 e 92,3.
