Resumen:
The present study evaluates the aggravations in the health of the population of the city of Alhandra, Caaporã and Pitimbu. Both present cement production and sugarcane burning, thus seeking to show a relationship between morbidity and mortality rates with levels of pollutants, population complaints and plant uptime. The morbidity data were collected on the Datasus website, and the morbidity data were collected in the municipal health secretariats and through questionnaires obtained a profile of the respondents, their main complaints and symptoms of disease, as well as measurements of dioxide carbon dioxide (CO2) in the vicinity of factories. A descriptive analysis was carried out to obtain a list of people with chronic diseases, as well as the profile of the interviewees. The relationship between people with chronic diseases and onset and / or aggravation of health symptoms was verified by means of the chi-square test of independence, showing that there was a strong dependence between these variables, suggesting that people with chronic diseases are the most impaired by the activity of cement production and biomass burning. In order to verify if the mortality rates are influenced by the time of activity of the factories, the Pearson correlation was used, which showed that there is a positive linear association between the variables, ie, the longer the exposure time to the pollutants the higher the rate mortality rate.
