Resumo:
The experiment was conducted to evaluate the influence of increasing levels of
supplementation with hay, Jurema Preta and Faveleira to replace the hay, grass, on the
metabolism of eight sheep o f the breed Santa Ines, with body weight between 25 and 30 Kg
They were divided into four levels, two animals for each level: 0% JF - without
supplementation o f hay, and faveleira jurema Preta and the other, JF 17%, 33% and 50% JF
JF, supplemented with three increasing levels o f hay, Jurema Preta and Faveleira (17%,
33% and 50%, respectively). A l l experimental groups received Leucena fresh as part of the
diet. The dosages were performed biochemical kits through commercial and semiautomatic
analyzer. Statistical analyses were performed using the SAS PROC ANOVA of
the (1999), when significant, the means were compared by Tukey test of the 5%. The
replacement of 50% of the hay, grass by equal parts of Jurema Preta ( Mimosa temuiflora Wild) and Faveleira (Cnidoscolus phyllacanthus Pax e K. Hoffrn.) apparently did not
compromise the health o f animals in the study period.
