Resumo:
Indication of arboreal species for urban landscaping in the semi-arid northeast. The biggest challenge of urban afforestation is in the conflict that is established between the trees and the other elements that make up the environment. In environments that present a hostile climate, as in cities in the Brazilian semi-arid region, this challenge is much greater. The solution depends, in the act of planning, on the correct choice of trees. For this, research was carried out in order to identify and
to analyze the potential of species of arboreal, native or exotic adapted, that can be adequately indicated for urban landscaping. The studies were carried out in the Sertão of Paraíba, having identified thirty species, both native and exotic, whose potentialities were analyzed, resulting in 22 indications for afforestation of public roads, 30 for green areas (parks, pests and gardens) and 07 for protectionist vegetation. urban. Of the total number of trees surveyed, 8 are small, 14 are medium and 8 are large.
