Resumo:
The objective of this work was to make a retrospective study on major skin diseases that
attacked horses,on Veterinary Hospital Health Center and Rural Technology, Federal
University of Campina Grande, Patos-PB between the years 2002 until 2012. The
research was performed by monitoring the routine functioning of the said Hospital, In
the care of animals arriving in motivated by cutaneous involvement and through data
checks on medical records. Was verified 1,763 chips horses of which 157 horses were
treated for skin diseases, which corresponds to (8.90%) of animals of which (54.1%)
with Pythiosis, with habronemiasis (21.6%), with sarcoid (15.2%), with carcinoma
(3.18%) and photosensitization with (2.54%). Thus, it is concluded that there is a series
of skin ailments in horses wherein the therapeutic protocols used in the HV / UFCG are
effective.
