Use of correctives and plants in soils degraded by salts. Environmental degradation is a serious problem of worldwide scope, among the problems there is salinization and sodification of soils that limit the availability of nutrients and reduce the development of plants. The objective of this work was to establish the sulfuric acid dose to be used to correct the chemical properties of salinized soils with basic reaction, to perform a comparative analysis between gypsum and sulfuric acid correctives, when applied in salinized soils and to analyze the influence of increasing doses of gypsum and sulfuric acid in the growth of plants grown in salinized soils. Soil was collected in the irrigated perimeter of São Gonçalo, at a depth of 20 cm. The experiment consisted of two types of correctives (gypsum and sulfuric acid), with four doses and three species (mesquite, moringa and vigna beans). It was concluded that acid application in saline-sodic soils reduces soil pH more strongly than gypsum. The application of increasing doses of gypsum and sulfuric acid in the soil provided an increase in the production of plant dry matter of both mesquite, moringa and vigna beans.
