Résumé:
In order to assess the viability of autogenous skin grafts donkeys, were used 5 adults
females asses (Equus asininus), mixed breed, healthy, all kept in a collective paddock in
Veterinary Hospital on Federal University of Campina Grande, Campus Patos. In each
animal, two lesions were produced. In the region lesion of the dorsal-lateral right
hemithorax (Treatment Group) was grafted a fragment of skin with full thickness mesh
obtained from the dorsolateral region of the left hemithorax of the same animal, the wound
in the left hemithorax generated regarded as the control group and treated by second
intention, washed daily with treated water and chlorhexidine digluconate and spray applied
to the wound healing. The dressing change of both groups was performed by the 9th
postoperative day, every 48 hours from the 10th day the exchange was performed every
day until the 45th day, with the closing of wounds. Were performed macroscopic analysis
of the wounds until the 9th postoperative day, every 48 hours, collections and
histopathological (biopsy) and microbiological (swabs) in the wound bed at 7, 14 and 21
days after surgery. There were few significant variations in the comparative study between
treatments, concluding that the autogenous skin grafting in donkeys is not a choice for
treatment of wounds in this species.
