Risk factors associated with products, inputs and services related to health and the
environment are preventive actions of Sanitary Vigilance acting in the medicalsanitary
practices offering promotion, health protection.
The present research had the objective of ascertaining the applicability of the norms
recommended by the Brazilian sanitary legislation in the Clinic-School of Dentistry of
the Federal University of Campina Grande. The study variables were compliance with
biosafety standards, physical design evaluation, waste management and verification
of guidelines regarding radiation protection. A cross-sectional and observational
research was developed, using an inductive approach with descriptive procedures
and research technique by direct on-site field documentation.
It was observed that some aspects are in accordance with the requirements of the
regulations, but that there are still deficiencies in some items required by health
surveillance: clean and dirty environment flow, dispersion of processing solutions,
inadequacies in the waste management plan and in the autoclave microbiological
test. It is concluded that the Clinical School of Dentistry of the UFCG complies with
some aspects of the current sanitary legislation, however, that still does not obey
some norms for the operation of a standardized clinical clinic, being necessary
reassessment and changes in the management of waste services health and
infrastructure. In addition to improving biosafety measures and the academic training
of future professionals to carry out promotion, rehabilitation and health protection.
