Stress level assessment in patients with abfraction treated at the UFCG Dentistry Clinic. The abfrations present as an irreversible loss of dental structure in the cervical region without involving the action of bacteria and has a complex and multifactorial etiology. It is a wedge-shaped lesion caused by mechanical overload initiated by flexion of the cusps. The prevalence of abfrations has been increasing as there is an increase in life expectancy and high stress index. At the same time, epidemiological studies have not been common because of the difficulty in obtaining and comparing data from different populations, which has presented its own characteristics and poorly standardized
methodologies. The objective of this study is to evaluate the level of stress in patients with abfração, being treated at the Clinic Dental School UFCG since the incidence of stress has grown over the years, listing etiological factors that could guide specific and individual preventive actions. To obtain the data, a questionnaire was applied that evaluated the level of stress, and the sample was composed for convenience. We interviewed 47 patients. Of these, a greater number of female participants were observed in relation to the male subjects,it was noted that 53% of the participants are in a high stress index, and it can be concluded that patients with non-carious cervical lesion type abfração presented with high levels of stress, which this stress can cause in other lesions in the oral cavity.
