Abstract:
Technique for making anatomical pins in anterior teeth - case report. The use of fiberglass post in anterior teeth is quite common in clinical practice to ensure anchorage to the final restoration of the tooth, for a reduced risk of root fractures and to have similar chromaticity to dental tissues. However, its retention is compromised in canals of elliptic shape, or exhibiting a reduced amount of residual root structure after endodontic treatment due to the thick cementation line. To resolve this problem, the technique of relining the fiberglass post with composite resin (anatomic post) was developed. The aim of this article is to describe the technique of making anatomic post through a case report. The patient came to the ofice by reporting dental darkening on elements 11 and 12. On clinical examination, extensive loss of dentin tissue was observed due to endodontic treatment. As a treatment plan we opted for the installation of the fiberglass post by the technique of the anatomical post prior to the aesthetic treatment. The technique prove to be simple and satisfactory and its results make it increasingly promising.
