Resumo:
The Prontuário Eletrônico do Cidadão (PEC) was created by the Department of
Information Technology of SUS (DATASUS), with the purpose of rationalizing SUS resources
and having greater control over what is being invested with public transfers. Objective: To
evaluate the acceptance and ease of use of the Prontuário Eletrônico do Cidadão Record by
dentists of the basic care from the city of Patos-PB. Methodology: The study was descriptive
and had as target population the dental surgeons who work in the Basic Health Units from the
city of Patos-PB. For data collection, a structured, objective and self-administered form was
used. The data obtained through the questionnaires were typed and tabulated in SPSS 22.0
software and analyzed based on descriptive statistics and inferential analysis using the chisquare
test, assuming a significance of 5% (p ≤0.05). Results: Most of the interviewees were
female (63%), aged 31-50 (44.4%) between 0-5 years old (51.9), with less than 5 years of work
in the Unit (63%). 63% considered the electronic medical record easy to use. There was a
statistically relevant difference in the question about the difficulty of using the PEC and the time
of action in the Unit (p = 0.036), between the effort used to adapt to the PEC and the training
time (p = 0.015) and also to consider the PEC of difficult to use in general with the age of the
participant (p = 0.008). Conclusion: The PEC was generally well accepted and widely used by
dental surgeons, with some gaps to improve use with training time.
