Resumo:
The present study aimed to investigate what high school, undergraduate and
postgraduate students think about Biotechnology associated with Microbiology in
Biology teaching-learning, with an emphasis on the CTS approach. Data for the analysis
were obtained through questionnaires answered by students from state schools of Rio
Grande do Norte and Paraíba and undergraduate and graduate students of the Federal
University of Campina Grande in Cuité-PB. The results suggest that, although some
basic knowledge about the themes studied has been identified, the contextualization
does not seem to be present yet in daily teaching activity, even when dealing with
subjects that are in people's daily lives, besides having observed standardizations in the
responses of several students . This finding is important so that future teaching practices
are rethought in order to properly interpret a single science aimed at attempting to solve
social problems.
