Abstract:
The public tender is one of the best forms of insertion of the dental surgeon in the
public health service, constituting one of the main means to select the professionals
who work in the family health strategy. Periodontics is of great importance for the
dynamics of care in primary health care, since periodontal disease is one of the most
prevalent oral diseases among the Brazilian population. The objective of this study
was to verify and analyze the periodontal content covered in public tenders of
Paraíba through the analysis and classification of questions. The exams were
retrieved through a search on a free access website, which provides evidence of
competitions in Brazil, the PCI public tender. Questions were extracted that dealt with
the subjects of the area of periodontics of available public notice of selective held and
closed, from all cities in the state of Paraíba to the position of dentist surgeon of the
Family Health Program between the years 2001 and 2018. Of all the state were
collected 124 public notice of selective exam and when applying the exclusion criteria
were removed 3 repeated tests, totaling 121. After analyzing these, 4,840 questions
were obtained to the total, of these 2,496 corresponded to the specific knowledge to
the position of dental surgeon and 156; 6%, were about periodontal. The questions
were classified according to the generic topic that is treated and cognitive level that
required according to the Revised Taxonomy BLOOM. The results indicated that the
topic of etiology of periodontal diseases was the one with the highest prevalence
corresponding to 23% of the questions, followed by the topic of diagnosis, prognosis
and treatment plan with 21%. In the classification by cognitive dimensions according
to the Revised Taxonomy of Bloom, remember was the one with the highest
occurrence, corresponding to 48% of the questions, followed by the apply dimension
with 29%. It was concluded that the questions of etiology of periodontal diseases and
of diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan were the most addressed in public
examinations in the context of periodontics and that the cognitive dimensions to
remember and apply were the most required in the public notice of selective exam.
More complex cognitive dimensions presented low prevalence.
