Abstract:
The use of reservoirs is a fundamental part of reducing the scarcity of water resources, leading to the population that enjoys this resource, the supply on a regular and lasting basis. However, the implementation of a large enterprise such as this causes several changes in the environmental elements for the physical, biotic and anthropic environments. Therefore, the main objective of this work was to identify and analyze the environmental impacts resulting from the implementation of the "Community Fork Dam" reservoir, and propose environmental control measures. The reservoir is located in the rural zone of the municipalities of Cajazeirinhas-PB and São Bentinho-PB, both situated in the interior of the state of Paraíba. The main methodology was the use of environmental impact assessment methods, with the help of bibliography, on-site visits with interviews, photographs and the basic construction project. It is possible, through the basic project, to identify the activities developed during the implementation phase of the reservoir, with the aid of interviews and visits, a simplified environmental diagnosis was elaborated for the physical, biotic and anthropic environments, with the characteristics of the region for these. With the use of EIA methods, a series of impacts resulting from the implantation were observed, presenting a total of 27 (twenty seven) impacts, for a total of 9 observed activities, of which 17 (seventeen) were considered significant impacts, in which environmental control measures were developed for the significant impacts, noting that from 17 (seventeen), 2 (two), it was not possible to identify and / or create environmental control measures. Thus, we can conclude that the project presents a number of significant environmental impacts, and it is necessary to change the way in which the work was carried out, so that it may have the possibility of reducing the amount of significant environmental impacts resulting from implementation of the enterprise.
