Résumé:
Impact of malocclusions on the quality of life of preschoolers. In order to evaluate the impact of oclusopathy on quality of life related to the oral health of preschool children, a cross-sectional study was conducted, which adopted as strategy of data collection, clinical examination of the oral cavity of 200 children, two to five years of age, of public schools in Patos city - Paraíba state and the application of the Brazilian version of the Early Childrenhood Oral Health Impact Scales (B-ECOHIS) questionnaire for parents and / or guardians. The data were transferred to a database in the software Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The variables were correlated using the Fisher's Exact Test and the Chi-square Test. The level of significance was 5% (p <0,05). The prevalence of children with oclusopathy was (35%), being thus (27.5%) Anterior Open Bite, (6%) Overjet accentuated and (1.5%) Posterior Crossbite. When the presence of oclusopathy was correlated with quality of life related to oral health, statistical significance was not obtained (p = 0.12). Therefore, this study showed that oclusopathy had no impact on the quality of life of preschool children and that Anterior Open Bite was the most prevalent oclusopathy.
