Abstract:
The endodontic treatment aims a correct instrumentation, cleaning and modeling of
the root canal having a complete removal of necrotic tissues and bacterial infiltration.
Procedural failures and intercurrences may be related to the emergence of therapy
failures, requiring retreatment. In this way the present study aimed to report the
endodontic retreatment in a patient with extensive periradicular lesion and presence
of root perforation in the middle / cervical thirds. Retreatment of 21, 22 and 23 teeth
were performed through the use of ultrasonic inserts and rotational instrumentation, It
was possible to detec perforation in the cervical and middle third region of element
22. The perforation treatment was performed using the operating microscope, with
adequate decontamination and MTA filling. It was followed for 6 months. After this
period we can observe signs of neoformation of the bone matrix in the region
affected by the lesion and the patient presented asymptomatic.
