Resumen:
Water is a natural good that is becoming increasingly scarce due to the improper use of man and food production in general. It is indispensable to encourage the conservation and prevention and reuse of the same, seeking to maintain the quantity and quality of water. In this sense, the objective of this work is to propose an efficient alternative for the treatment of effluents from a dairy factory, in the municipality of Catolé do Rocha- PB. The study was carried out in a dairy factory, located at Fazenda São Domingos, a rural area of the municipality of Catolé do Rocha-PB. The survey was conducted through data collection, by on-site visits, interviews with the owner and with some employees , through a questionnaire, photographic, calculation of the effluent flow produced daily at the site, as well as data obtained through the Google Earth program and QGIS software 2.14. In view of the above, it was possible to conclude that according to the current situation of the plant, the treatment system that would most adapt would be the addition of a flotation tank, to complement the primary treatment that is already used in the place so that the impacts reduced and eventually extinct.
