Special features as biocompatibility, aesthetic, translucency, durability and optical properties and a excellent resistance make this mode restored an alternative for those who want to undergo minimally invasive procedures with high rate of success and predictability. But these depend on several elements to achieve elements to achieve success as desired. Among them, the choice of case, the characteristics of the material of selected, the type of preparation chosen, treating the tooth surface and laminate, the cementing agent and final adjustment are indispensable and strongly influence the result. OBJECTIVES: Identifying the factors that support for the failure of this rehabilitative technique, through a literature review, based on books, journals and articles, selected carefully, in the period 2000-2015.
