Abstract:
This production deals with the foundations of skills of school leaders necessary for effective performance in school management practices. This production seeks, as a research question, to answer in what way the development of competence bases of school leaders is constituted in the daily life of school management? The general objective of this production is to analyze how and by which elements the foundations of school leaders' competences are constituted. In the methodological course of this work, qualitative research was adopted, involving the development of exploratory studies and semi-structured interviews with five managers of public schools in action. This is a field research, in which the object of study is the competence bases of school leaders. Still regarding the methodology, it should be noted that the data collection focused on the daily actions of the school and the directors in the process of competences and skills for decision-making in the school environment. The categories of analysis that guided this study were school management in Libâneo (2008), the bases of competences and skills in Luck (2000; 2009) and public school in Paro (2003). as part of the conclusive approximations, this study circumscribes that the foundations of school leaders' competences are related to actions and relationships in the educational environment in which the manager is responsible for mobilizing the proposed activities in order to develop the teaching-learning process with quality. Therefore, it is necessary to know the pedagogical processes, the teaching knowledge and the daily practices of the educational institution as well as the educational praxis, research in education and teacher training as constitutive elements of a good performance in school management; as well as the scientific domain and the ability to foster and understand the social foundation of the public school.
