Abstract:
Composite resins represent restorative materials most used for rehabilitation of
dental cavities in anterior teeth. To this need in the composition of filler particles
which provide improved surface smoothness, making the polishing procedure, while
contributing to the increase in the mechanical strength. The aim of this study was to
compare the compressive strength of two composite resins used in the School Clinic
of Dentistry UFCG / Patos-PB with different inorganic fillers, varying the distance
curing. 60 specimens of the two brands studied will be made in accordance with ISO
4049, and these will be subjected to measurement of Vickers Microhardness, after
polymerization, varying the distance of the tip of the curing light to the body of
evidence. Data were analyzed with SPSS (version 21) software and after the
application of statistical tests of Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney statistical
difference was observed in comparisons with distance from 3mm to Llis® resin, which
is formed by inorganic filler particles barium-aluminum glass. This shows that some
brands do not allow a separation of the tip of the curing light, which if not met can
affect the hardness of composite resins.
