Tipos e características de conectores maiores em próteses parciais removíveis: uma revisão de literatura.

Abstract

The removable partial denture is a device intended to replace the missing teeth of the dental arch, restoring the aesthetics and function, which can be inserted and removed from the mouth by the patient. One component of the partial dentures is the major connector, which in turn is responsible for the direct or indirect interconnection of all other components. The aim of this study was to review the literature on the characteristics and types of major connectors in order to gather studies, case reports and articles to identify which connectors are best for certain cases according to the Kennedy classification, their construction and describe about the main types of palatine and mandibular major connectors. Besides making a brief summary of the main current alloys used in the manufacture of removable partial dentures frames.
