Resumo:
On the basis of the potentiality of the industrialization of kaolin in Brazil and its
enormous generation of residues, observes it constant necessity of studies that allow
a rational exploitation of these rejects in the industry of the civil construction, a time
that this sector suffers with the high costs from production due the scarcity from
substance cousin. This work has as objective to study the potentiality of the use of
the residues of improvement of kaolin for the production of an alternative mixture with
ground-cement for civil constructions. In this research assays of physical, chemical
and mineralogy characterization of the kaolin residues and soil had been carried
through and ambient analysis of in agreement kaolin residues norms of the ABNT.
The index of pozolânica activity of the residues was evaluated and carried through
technological assays for determination of the absorption of water and simple
compressive strength in body-of-test. In the traces of the soil-cement mixture (1: 10,
1:12 and 1:15) had been incorporated 10%, 20% and 30% of a mixture of 50% of
thick and fine residue of kaolin, in substitution to the part of the soil. The gotten
results had shown that the body-of-test with incorporation of kaolin residues had
inside presented pozolânica activity of the standards established for norm, raised
values resistance the simple compression and values of very inferior absorption of
water to the limits in agreement norms of the ABNT. The body-of-test incorporated
with 20% of the mixture of residues had gotten the best ones resulted arriving at a
profit of 33% of resistance in comparison to the body-of-test of reference. Finally,
viability is concluded technique and sends regards to it to the use of residues of
incorporated kaolin to an alternative mixture kaolin ground-cement-residues in the
civil construction.
