Resumen:
Sustainable production systems use techniques that provide better plant development as a way to minimize environmental and economic impacts by providing a better environment for increased beet production. In this context, the objective was to evaluate the use of the biofertilizer as foliar and soil fertilizer, with the use of sombrite in beet. The experiment was carried out in the municipality of São Domingos-PB, Brazil, in the experimental design of randomized blocks with treatments allocated in a 2 x 3 factorial scheme, with 4 replicates. These treatments came from the combination of two types of biofertilizer applications (foliar and via soil), two shade periods of 0-30, 30-60 days with 50% shade and full sun. The experimental plots used were 1.35 m2 in spacing of 15 x 20 cm with thirty-six plants per plot, distributed in four rows, considering as useful the two central rows. Characteristics evaluated number of leaves per plant, height of plant, fresh matter of leaves and root, leaf dry matter and root, root length, root diameter. It was verified that the biofertilizer applied by soil and the shading in the period of 30-60 showed higher growth and beet production.
