Resumo:
The floral biology knowledge is fundamental to the genetic improvement and cultivation of a species and the melon is no different, because studies show that the use of Ethrel in Cucurbits has been shown to be a promising technology influencing the growth of the plants. The objective of this work was to evaluate the floral biology of meloeiro according to with the synthetic cover with mulching the doses of Ethrel (2- cloroetilfosfônico acid) in semi-arid conditions Brazil. The experiment was conducted on the experimental farm of the Federal University of Campina Grande, located in the city of São Domingos-PB, between August and November 2018. To cultivate studied was the Inodorus group Hibrix yellow melon and treatments were allocated in the randomized block design in plots subdivided of type 5-2, with four replicates. The portion was built by five doses of Ethrel (0100,200,300 and 400 ppm. L-1) and in the soil coverage subplot (with and without mulching). The male flowering in meloeiro plant. Increasing the doses of Ethrel slowed the emergence of male and female flowers on the plant, as well as your number per plant. The plants cultivated without application of Ethrel presented a greater duration of flowering. The cover of the soil with mulching of black was not effective in modifying the female flowering on meloeiro plant.
