Resumo:
The aimed to characterize and evaluate the physical characteristics of green dwarf coconut for different shifts of irrigation and the use of mulch. The experiment was conducted in the irrigated perimeter of Sousa Floodplains in sector 1 Lot 14 which is located on land of Sousa municipalities in the middle region of the meso region of the State of Paraíba, inserted in the sub-basin of the Rio do Peixe and bowl Piranhas river with access by highway BR-230, distant 440 km from João Pessoa-PB. The experiment was conducted in completely randomized design DIC in factorial 2 x 5 where plants are evaluated with cover and cover and 5 plants without irrigation interval. The green dwarf coconut has 7 (seven) years of planting, spaced 7 m between rows and 7 m between plants, totaling 50 plants, which were divided into 5 blocks, where each block had 10 fruits, 5 plants for cover (TR1: daily irrigation, TR2: irrigation every 2 days, TR3: irrigation every 3 days, TR4: irrigation every 4 days, and TR5: irrigation every 5 days). 5 days, totaling 25 plants for mulching and 25 without mulching). The treatments that were provided with mulch were derived from the coccus leaf abscission itself and other treatments without the use of mulch. The fruits were harvested and taken to the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Food Analysis of the Center for Agricultural Sciences and Technology - CCTA, Federal University of Campina Grande - UFCG, Campus of Pombal-PB, to perform the physical parameters: weight; length and diameter of the longitudinal and transverse fruit; thickness of the bark at the insertion and in the equatorial region of the fruit; length and diameter of the longitudinal and transverse internal cavity and thickness of the solid albumen. After weighing and opening the fruits, the weight and volume of the coconut water were determined by determining the water weight / fruit weight ratio, the weight of the solid albumen. The mulch and the different watering shifts did not interfere with the characteristics physical characteristics of the green dwarf coconut, the mulch being used to improve the soil characteristics and to retain water for a longer period, in view, any irrigation shift for coconut irrigation can be used.
