Resumo:
Tooth loss usually leads to a number of negative consequences for the patient, whether psychological, aesthetic or social. The choice of overdenture as rehabilitative option has proven to be an efficient practice in Prosthodontics Clinic as long as the patient has characteristics considered ideal for its implementation. The aim of this study is to report a case of rehabilitation of a 47-year-old male patient, who attended at the Clinical School of Dentistry at Federal University of Campina Grande, Patos - PB, whose upper dental arch has only canine teeth, which were used as O-ring system retainers to the overdenture prosthesis type. After installation, the patient received instructions about hygiene, care and maintenance of the denture and O-ring system. We can conclude that the tooth-retained overdenture had satisfactory characteristics as a restorative option, as long as remaining dental be with a good insertion.
