Resumo:
The salinity of irrigation water is one of the main limiting factors in the production of cashew tree seedlings in the Northeast region of Brazil. In view of this, the objective of this work was to evaluate the morphophysiology of cashew rootstock plants "Crioulo" submitted to irrigation with salinized water and doses of potassium silicate. The work was developed under protected environment conditions of the Federal University of Campina Grande in the Center for Agro - Food Sciences and Technology, Pombal - PB campus. The experimental design was a randomized block design, with treatments distributed in a 5 x 5 factorial scheme, referring to five irrigation water conductivity levels (0.3, 1.0, 1.7, 2.4 e 3.1 dS m-1) and five doses of
potassium silicate (0, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 mg of K2SiO3 L-1) applied through the leaf with four replications and two plants per plot. The gaseous changes, growth, phytomass formation and IQD of the cashew rootstocks are reduced by the increase of the CEa of the irrigation water, however, irrigation with water of CEa 1,7dS m-1, promotes an acceptable reduction of 10% in the morphology of the cashew tree "Crioulo"; The dose of 482.27 mg L-1 of potassium silicate provided improvements in the physiology, morphology and quality of cashew rootstocks.
