Resumen:
Dental avulsion is characterized by the total displacement of your tooth socket,
causing functional, aesthetic and psychological damage to the patient. The study
objective was to review the literature on dental avulsion, to gather studies, case
reports and articles to identify clinical complications before this trauma, ideal storage
media for avulsed element, treatment protocols adopted by most authors and factors
influencing the prognosis of replantation. Was held a search in the databases
Medline, Lilacs, and Scielo BBO, the period 2005 to 2014, using the key words: tooth
avulsion, tooth replantation and tooth injuries. Specific books on the topic were also
consulted. The teeth most affected by avulsions are the maxillary central incisors.
Generally, first aid to a victim of dental avulsion are provided by lay people is
extremely important that after this treatment the patient is referred to the dentist. The
immediate replantation should be accomplished, when this is not possible, the
substance more indicated for this store is the milk. It can be concluded that
immediate replantation allows a higher success rate in the treatment of avulsed teeth.
As the prognosis of these teeth is directly related to the extra period - alveolar, the
