Resumo:
This research addresses how the teaching process of Popular Culture occurs in the city of Umari/CE, as well as its importance in the formation of the subjects that constitute it. In this direction, this research has the general objective: to apprehend the contributions of the teaching of Popular Culture, through folk dances, in the process of teaching elementary school children, Aos Iniciais, in the city of Umari/CE. Specifically, the work aims to approach the concepts of Culture and Popular Culture; discuss about teacher training in the teaching of Art and point out the difficulties encountered by educators from the Maria Bonita Cultural Association regarding the use of digital tools in the process of teaching folk dances in times of Remote Teaching in the city of Umari/CE. In this way, we built the theoretical framework based on works by authors who approach studies on Popular Culture and the training of educators to act in this axis. Therefore, the theoretical basis is composed by the following authors: HALL (2003), SILVA (2019), BRASILEIRO (2010), SEVERINO (2006) and etc. We followed the research methodology, which is characterized by a basic and explanatory nature, in which the objective of data collection was a semi-structured interview following all ethical procedures. As a result of this research, we obtained relevant reflections on the teaching of Popular Culture as well as on the training necessary for the popular educator to act in the classroom.
