Resumen:
The research was conducted at a DNOCS irrigated perimeter, located in Sousa-PB, on three different textured soils. The objective of the work was to study the effect of the initial soil water content in the surface layer of soil (0 - 20 cm) on the parameters of the infiltration equation the infiltration tests were conducted with the infiltrometer cylinder mettodologie with initial soil water contents of 20, 40, 60 and 8075 available water for plants. Through statistical analysis it was found a high and direct correlation among the values of "K" and the initial soil water content. With some exceptions the "n" coefficient was not affected by the water treatments. The basic infiltration velocity and the infiltration time were influenced by the water content.
