Résumé:
Foundation is a part of the structure of a building that has the function to transfer the loads to the soil. Between the elements of foundation, footings are a type of shallow foundations constructed with reinforced concrete that can be produced to support one (isolated footings) or more than one pilar (combined footings). The design of a footing should be executed in a way that the reinforcement can resist of forces of traction. For this, a lot of designing methods can be used since then respect the recommendations of the Brazilian normative of the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas NBR 6118 e NBR 6122 executed the development of a software for predesigning isolated footings in foundations using the VBA programming language. The software was organized with a sequence of interfaces (windows) that permit to the user insert the necessary information to execute the calculations and verify the concordance with conditions and obtain the results of the footing designing. In the software was implemented three methods for designing of isolated footings, the strut and tie method and other two methods based on conditions of the CEB-70 and the ACI-318. Thus, the developed software was applied on two study cases with the objective of evidence the correct performance of the program applying the three methods. So, with this was possible to verify that the ACI-318 results on a lower quantity of steel, in the two study cases, in opposition the CEB-70 method results on a higher quantity of steel.
