Resumen:
The greenhouse effect and its consequences have been the subject of discourse in the most diverse places of the planet, due to the importance of this effect in the climatic changes of the last decades. There are different techniques being used to diagnose trends and / or hydrometeorological variations, especially temperature and precipitation, which are the main parameters involved in the climatic variations. The objective of this study is to analyze the existence of trend and correlation in precipitation and temperature data in the Piancó Piranhas Açú basin. The study will be carried out in the region of the Piranhas-Açu river basin, for that will be used historical series between the years of 1961 and 2016, available from the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) and the National Water Agency (ANA). To perform the preliminary analysis of data consistency will be used the program HidroPlu, To perform the preliminary analysis of data consistency will be used the program HidroPlu, to identify trends in the historical series, the Mann-Kendall test will be applied, through computational routines in Matlab, after this will be used the Spearman Correlation coefficient to identify the correlation between the historical series. This is expected to analyze the existence of trend and correlation in the precipitation and temperature data in the Piancó Piranhas Açú basin and the existence of a correlation between the historical series in order to determine the causes of possible changes in rainfall and temperature patterns, which may result in impacts on agriculture, in the hydrological cycle, and consequently for the caatinga biome.
