Abstract:
This is a literature review published in Portuguese regarding the contemporary scenario of home education in Brazil. This is a bibliographic review study of articles published in the last five years (2007 - 2021), in which the indexed literature was searched based on bibliographic data using the following descriptors: Home education in Brazil, Home education in Brazil, Family Education in Brazil, Homeschooling and Schooling in the Family. After surveying the theoretical foundation, exclusion criteria were used, with the reading of the articles, discarding those that did not deal with the topic Home Education in Brazil. We sought to make a brief introduction to home education, bringing it to the Brazilian social, educational and cultural context. It is observed that the Brazilian reality still needs to improve, presenting flaws in the process, given that students present unsatisfactory performance. A home educational factor to be considered is the issue of socialization, which is one of the biggest criticisms made to those who practice the modality. It is necessary for the school to reinvent itself in its practices, seeking to be within the demands of today, including everyone in the school environment so that it provides students with socialization. So that they develop the necessary skills of their age group.
