Abstract:
The effect of additivation on plastics obtained from propylene and ethylene was analyzed in the processing steps as well as in the final application. During processing the polymer is subjected to heat and the presence of oxygen. To avoid degradation this is additive for flow stability. After transformation, it must be used in adverse conditions. The additives used in this process are antioxidants whose function is to either inhibit or delay oxidation. In the tests carried out regarding antioxidants, several samples were submitted to the extrusion and injection molding processes. These were granulated and injected into disc shapes. In all cases, they did not show good characteristics in terms of MFI properties, brightness, lifetime and additives.
