The voltage and current signals are increasingly discrepant from the pure waveform sinusoidal, mainly due to the use of equipment based on conversion systems non-linear power supplies, as well as non-linear loads connected to electrical power systems. potency. Thus, the traditional power theory, developed for sinusoidal signals, shows inadequate to this new reality. As a result, several theories of power calculation electricity have been proposed, however, there is still no proposal that is fully accepted and widespread. That is, the development of a power theory aimed at distorted signals is a wide-ranging and controversial topic. This work falls within this scope and carries out a study to evaluate the performance of power theories. To this end, theories of potency were addressed. defined in the time domain and in the frequency domain. In this particular, are defined electrical system scenarios to cover different circuit characteristics and, therefore, signs. In addition, the ability of each power theory to account for the reduction of reactive power due to the application of different reactive compensation techniques. In this work, the analysis of signals measured in the field is also contemplated. The results obtained show the discrepancies in relation to the reactive power indicated by each theory, as well as as the inconsistencies of each of them.
