Resumen:
This study has as main objective to contribute to the knowledge of the applications of the concrete-PVC construction method through the analysis of the economic viability of the system in comparison with the traditional system of masonry with ceramic blocks applied in the construction of Housing of Social Interest. To this end, a verification was made that related labor demand and costs of an enterprise in the municipality of Mossoró-RN executed using the traditional construction system. For the case study, the concrete-PVC construction method did not prove to be competitive with the conventional system in terms of cost, due to the low value spent on the superstructure in the conventional system. Therefore, the structural size must be analyzed so that the cost, which in a hierarchy of priorities in new projects is the main aspect taken into consideration, is attractive. On the other hand, there was substantial savings in time and labor in PVC-concrete, as with a team of only two employees, the superstructure, sealing and coating processes were completed in just thirty days, a fact that did not apply. to the conventional constructive system, since several subsystems must be fulfilled to obtain a similar result. In view of the analyzed results, it was possible to identify that the workforce, linked to the deadlines, is the determining factor for choosing PVC-concrete over the conventional system, which, for the study in question, had a lower cost with the consumption of materials.
