Abstract:
In the demand of the civil engineering market, a demand for new technologies and methods that are more current and capable of making the execution of materials faster, encouraging manufacturers to be efficient to serve this market. Then, new ways of dimensioning and new areas of civil construction arise, as in pre-dial hydraulic installations, such as the use of cross-linked polyethylene, used as an alternative material in relation to PVC, which is the most used. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the PEX analysis in a hydraulic project of a multifamily residential building, which was previously dimensioned considering the use of PVC, analyzing the hydraulic performance in comparison with the load variations and the cost of the pipes used. For this, cold water installation of a multifamily residential installation project and the dimensioning was carried out for the consumption of the apartments. From the hydraulic simulation, it was shown that the installation carried out with the reticulated material obtained higher load losses, resulting in a lower pressure in the models, the use of the most usual material. The comparative comparison showed that the use of PEX is more expensive than the use of PVC. However, given the ease of installation it offers, there are constructive advantages in adopting this less conventional material.
