Estudo de tráfego e análise da atual situação viária em interseção localizada no município de São Bento-PB.

Abstract

A country's transport matrix is directly linked to its economic, social and cultural development. A well-structured road system is essential to alleviate the needs of the population. For which it is necessary to invest in technology, infrastructure and public policies aimed at improving the elements that make up this system, road, vehicle, environment, pedestrian and driver. That said, the present work aimed to analyze the current road situation at an intersection located in the municipality of São Bento-PB, aiming at the adequacy of the components present in the road, providing safety and well-being. To carry out this work, the guidelines established by the traffic manuals of CONTRAN, DENATRAN, DNIT and current legislation were taken as a basis. A survey of socioeconomic data of the municipality was carried out, verification of the geometry of the road, survey of the accident rate, as well as carrying out traffic studies to analyze the feasibility of traffic lights at the intersection. The survey of socioeconomic data contributed to the identification of the local profile, the verifation of the geometry of the road consisted in the verification of sizes, magnitudes and the crossing capacity, in comparison with the parameters defined in the official manuals. The accident rate survey corroborated the identification of causes and damages suffered by vehicle operators and damage to transported goods. The traffic studies consisted of carrying out global, classifying and directional traffic surveys, where it was possible to characterize the road flow, the composition of the fleet and the movements performed. In view of this, the need to adapt the crossing to meet the current regulations, improving the geometry of the road and improving the vertical and horizontal signaling, was also detected the need for traffic lights at the intersection that suffers from chaotic traffic, as well as the promotion of practices to raise awareness of the population that performs inappropriate behavior in traffic.
