Abstract:
Brazil, besides the richness country of amphibian anuran recently described, presents a greas
number of unknowed species. In this work is described a new species of tiny anuran (< 18
mm) of the genus Pseudopaludicola (Miranda-Ribeiro, 1926) of brazilian northeastem,
characterized, mainly, by absence of T-shaped terminal phalanges and the presence of nuptial
pads, with the advertisement calls, besides the morphology of the adults and tadpoles. Further,
are presented data about it natural history and informations about the importance of the
taxonomy on the conservation of the species. All individuais used, both tadpoles and adults,
occur in permanent or temporary shallow ponds, in open areas, having the rainfall period the
mainly season, beside, sometimes, reproduce too in the dry season.
